Welcome to Brest, France

The meeting will take place at IFREMER Institute (Technopôle Brest Iroise, Pointe du Diable in Plouzané), located less than 20 minutes away (by car) from Brest city center.

You can reach Brest and IFREMER from the airport by taxi or bus, or rent a car at the airport.

To reach Brest City center

There are several possibilities for reaching your final destination :

The airport shuttle bus : The airport shuttle bus connects the Brest Bretagne airport with the tramway station at Porte de Guipavas.
More information on the airport shuttle bus. The price of a ticket is €1.45. This allows you to travel for one hour on any Bibus route (shuttle, tramway, bus). Tickets can be bought on board the shuttle from the conductor.

Taxis : taxis await you on arrival of each plane

Airport to IFREMER: about 40€
After 7 p.m : about 55€
Airport to Brest center : about 25 €
After 7 p.m : about 35€

Renting a car : car rental companies operate at the airport, their desks are situated at the exit from the baggage reclaim area (contact details of car rental companies)

IFREMER from Brest

The conference bus : there will be a bus every day at 08:15 near the Brest train station

You can come to Ifremer with Bibus, the public transport company (35 mn)

TRAMWAY A to “Porte de Plouzané" : This public transport company runs every 5 min from Brest city center ("Liberté" or "Siam" "Chateau" Tram station) to the Technopôle Brest Iroise. Get off at "Porte de Plouzané” and cross the street to the Bus stop. Get the line 13 and get off at Piccard bus stop (near Ifremer Institute).

To go back to Brest city from Ifremer

Time schedule Piccard Bus Stop (near Ifremer entrance) to Brest City Centre. Take the bus at Piccard Stop and get off at "Porte de Plouzané – Fort Montbarey" and cross the street to get a TRAMWAY to Brest city center ("Liberté" or "Siam" "Chateau" Tram station)

Tickets are available for the Tramway and the City Bus. Buy your tickets at the Tramway station
(automated ticket machine at each tram stop) or in the Bus with the bus driver.

The meeting

The meeting will be located in the Lucien Laubier conference room at IFREMER.

Note that at the gate entrance of the campus, you must give your ID card or passport (please remember to take it before departure).

Local organizer is IFREMER, represented by Fanny Girard-Ardhuin from the Laboratory of Physics and Space Oceanography at IFREMER.

Euros

There is NO CHANGE FACILITY near IFREMER site. We advise you to get Euros at the cash point of the Airport or in Brest city center.

Lunches

The participants will take the lunches at the IFREMER restaurant (about 8,00 €). Tickets will be available during the coffee breaks on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
Note that only CASH EUROS will be accepted.
